Evening all! I've got a Fein Multimaster (model FMM250Q) which doesn't work and I'm attempting to fring it back to life! The current challenge is that when it's turned on, it starts giving off smoke and when I take it apart after, the rotor coils are extremely hot. Is that to be expected, and is the source of the smoke likely to be elsewhere, or could there be some kind of friction between the rotor coils and the stator? (let me know if I've got my terms wrong here - this is all fairly new to me!)
Also, does anyone know if the gearbox can be opened? I have a feeling it's a closed unit that just needs a straight replacement, but I'd be keen to confirm.
