Sound From Outside And Neighbours After New Chimney Liner Installed

Post by omits » Mon Sep 23, 2013 9:10 am

I have just put in a new chimney liner (SS). Because its a shared stack I am finding that now we get reflected sound down the chimney from (mainly) the neighbours chimney and sounds from outside. I am about to repoint the chimney and wondered if there was a way of deflecting sound from reflecting down the chimney with say a baffle of some sort and what material to use.

Advice appreciated.

you could try a taller chimney pot so that the sound will not bounce across, Its just a guess though,

I have decided to place some lead baffles around the start area.
