Sourcing a leak

by inch high » Fri Aug 28, 2009 8:59 am

My better half text me yesterday to say that there was a leaking in the hall ceiling from our bathroom. When I got home, I couldnt see the leak. After messing around in the bathroom, the only thing I noticed was that when I filled the sink up, then pulled the plug, the bath plug starting "coughing" water out of it.

Could the leak and the bath coughing be connected?

Thanks

It could be, there seems to be a blockage and instead of water runniong away it backing up to the bath.

If there's a dodgy joint in the waste, when the water backs up it may be leaking.

The only way to find it, is to remove boxing/lift floorboards.
