Temporaily removing a window for sofa delivery

by abitofjohn » Mon Oct 05, 2020 11:37 am

Hi all

We are looking to get a sofa delivered that we know will not fit through our porch. If we could remove the windows we would be able to fit it through the window frame. Is this something I should attempt myself or should I try and find a tradesman to help?

It looks like a couple of screws holding the bracket to the frame but I know nothing about windows and what kind of brackets these even are so searching online for how-to's is proving to be troublesome.

Does anyone have any advice?

Many Thanks

Hi abitofjohn
If you wish to remove the top opening window the hinges will be fixed to the frame by 2/3/4 screws, make sure you have a helper to hold onto the window.
If you also need the lower window out you will have to take the glass out and ther will be 2/3 screws holding this in place on each side.
Regards S
