Toilet Cistern Filling slowly

Post by daddycool » Sat Oct 10, 2009 3:53 pm

I have a push button close coupled toilet. Until a few days ago it was working fine, but now the cistern takes ages to fill. I have had a look in the cistern and there is some water coming in through the inlet, but it is more of a fine spray than the normal pour (it used to fill very quickly).

Is it a problem with the inlet valve? [/code]

The inlet valve is blocked with debris (limescale or bits of water main) that have travelled up from the street (or from plumbing work that has been done in the house).

Dismantle the valve and clean it.
