Toilet Won't Stop Filling After Replacing Side Entry - Help!

by elfie008 » Mon Sep 08, 2014 8:39 am

I replaced the side entry system yesterday and it worked great, had to adjust the screw to lower the level of the water. Then this morning the system won't stop filling. So having to turn water off after each flush! Have I done something wrong or is there a problem with the new side system?

Hi elfie008

You haven't said what valve you've used, but most likely that some dirt has been disturbed in the pipework, and entered the valve. Take it apart and check.

If the cistern is continually filling either the ballcock is catching or stuck on something or its faulty keeping the valve open.

Or

you mean the toilet pan is still filling? if so the siphon it faulty not the water valve. (Change the big thing in the middle) Turn and pull out or you may have to remove the cistern from the pan to get underneath to the fixings if its an older toilet.
