Hi, I’m having trouble with my UPVC door. It has a dual spindle and I can engage the locks and then use the key to lock the door from the outside. However if I try the same thing on the inside the handle lifts but does not engage the lock. I have since changed the barrel and fitted new handles but the same issue is still occurring. My initial thought being that maybe the inside handle was faulty. I’m starting to think now that maybe it’s the gear mechanism in the door that’s the problem but I don’t know how to investigate further to determine if this is correct. Anybody out there able to help? Cheers
Hi checkmygrouting Try slackening the screws in the striker and lock plates then see if you can operate the lock. If ok you will have to try fixing each in turn to determine the problem one. Regards S
