Varnished and Sanded Wooden Floors but Small Lines in Finish

by Ianpickup » Mon Sep 14, 2015 10:46 pm

Hello all.

I've recently sanded (hire a flood sander) and varnished my timber floors in my house. Until I came to varnish I didn't realise that there were small lines in the wood which seem to be where the sander has not sanded evenly. They look like brush marks but aren't.

Anyway, in not sure what to do now to fix this.

Should I try sander back I've these with a handheld sander and see if that works and then re-varnish?

Any tips or help would be appreciated ....

Have you tried sander back? If the marks are the result of improper sanding, then you need to try resand to get rid of them.
