Varnishing a wooden floor and sanding

by Jefftree » Wed Jun 25, 2008 1:37 pm

Hi. I have put a coat of varnish down on a large wooden floor and now have to sand it. Is it okay to use the large heavy sander I used to sand the floor originally, or should I just use the hand held one I used for doing the edges?

Even a hand held is probably too much for sanding in between coats of varnish. You just need a very light key between coats so put a sheet of fine paper on the floor and rub it over by hand.
