A gas fire with a heat input of 7kw or less does not rquire ventilsation.

A gas fire with a heat input of 7kw or more does require ventilation and a DFE gas fire required 100cm2 ventilation.

A combi boiler does not require combustion ventilation - but some manufacturers do specify having cooling vents.
