wallpapering a recently plastered wall

by mcarthurrobert » Fri Oct 24, 2008 12:37 pm

I took some ceramic tiles off my kitchen wall (about 3 metres square) and a layer of the plaster under them also came off, mostly only about 1cm thick. I plastered up this area using Wickes one-coat plaster a couple of days ago and it looks as if it has dried up already. Does anyone know how long I will have to wait until I can safely wallpaper over this area? I've seen other articles which say that sometimes it can take months for plastered walls to dry, but is that generally only for several thicker layers of plaster?

Thanks

It should be dry by now. Just make sure you seal the new plasterwork before papering or the paste will suck into the new plaster before you have hang the paper properly.
