Hi guys,
I have recently got a dishwasher from a friend and thought I could connect it all myself! It is placed beside the washing machine and the washing machine has been fine with the waste hose going down the upstand pipe.
The hose for the dishwasher wouldn’t stretch to the spigot under the sink so I simply took the hose from the washing machine out of the upstand and placed that onto the spigot under the sink. The dishwasher (going into the upstand) would drain but the washing machine (connected to the spigot under the sink) would not drain.
I have tried switching the appliances round and the results are the same! Which ever hose is going down the upstand, will drain fine and which ever hose is connected under the sink will not drain at all.
The spigot is just a white piece of plastic so I am unsure why this would be causing any issues.
Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!
