Wet underfloor heating

by kippaxman » Mon Oct 06, 2008 8:08 pm

I've recently installed a UFH system on a suspended floor using YBS foil tec insulation and polypipe, covering 25m2. I have used a programable roomstat, motorised valve, seperate pump and flow control valves on the return. all seem to work brilliantly when testing the floor but now that winter is setting in I've noticed it takes ages, maybe 4/5 hours before the room starts to heat up. My mate who advised me during the installation said I couldn't have the roomstat wired directly to my boiler because the boiler would always be cycling on & off. I have to have it timed to come on with my boiler.
Want i would like advice on is to be able to control my radiator & my UFH system seperately so I can have the UFH permenantly on and controlled by the thermostat i have and the rads coming on via a timer. All advice welcomed.
