What is the best electric heating option??? Help!

by franceswilliamson » Mon Jan 26, 2009 1:56 pm

Hi, I am so confused. :?

I have a small-ish 2 bed, 1st floor flat which only has electricity, no gas. My storage heaters all need replaced and i was wondering what they best thing to replace them with is. More horrid, useless storage heaters? oil filled thingies? air-con/heat???

everyone i ask has a different opinion, someone even suggested getting gas fittted...

I don't want to spend £££...

anyway, if you have any ideas to throw into the pot i'd be v grateful.

Hi, it depends on when you are home, if out during most of day then nitestors are not much use since they have given out most of their heat while you are out. In this case why not replace them with convector heaters, get ones with inbuilt thermostats and timers.
If you get the nightstorage fuse board connected to normal supply you can have the same points as before so no extra wiring required, it should not cost much to get tails altered by local leckie.
