What to do with white cable in new out door light?

by Steve9000 » Sun Sep 20, 2020 12:46 pm

Hi guys
I'm wiring up a light in my back garden. Cable from the house : brown, blue, yellow/ green. Fine, understand that.
Cable from the light: red, brown, blue. The red and blue have a white cable with them.
I've never seen this before.
Please someone assure me I'm not being dumb and tell me what to do.
Thanks
Steve

I appreciate you are asking for guidance as to what the white wires are for, but as it is up to the manufacturer* what colour they use for what, it is not possible for a person on any forum to furnish you with the information you seek.
I there for suggest you read the instructions, or contact the maker of afore mentioned light fitting and ask them.
I should point out that there is the slight possibility the white wires are not actual wires, but packers for the cable to keep it in shape.

*You neglected to have stated such.
