Wiring two Ceiling Lights into one Dimmer Switch

by Skingsnorth » Mon Aug 31, 2015 11:24 am

Hi,

In our lounge ceiling we have two lights. They are controlled from two switches on a single panel. I'd like to be able to control them together with one dimmer switch which would mean wiring the two switches together somehow I assume. I have very limited electrician skills so am a beginner. Could someone offer some advice? Is this simple and if so what should I do?

Thanks a lot.
Simon

You can get slave and master dimmer switches which will allow full control from either switch, however with LED lights often they don't draw the minimum current required for dimmers to work.

Personally when LED's came in I got rid of all dimming switches.
