Hi All
i am going to fit a woodburner ,

point 1, how much room should be left around the burner , it is going to be fitted into the old fireplace, against an external wall made of red brick (not plastered).

Point 2, do i have to mix the vermiculite with cement before pouring it down chimney ?

coltheplumb,
BRs specify 150mm at sides and 50mm at the back. You may be able to negotiate something different with the BI.
The problem with concreting in the flue liner is how do you get it out if it fails - yes they can corrode. Stick with loose fill.
end
