Gaps between florboards over a hollow floor

Postby dympna35 » Fri Feb 14, 2014 10:13 pm

hi. ive just moved into a house with no flooring. There are planks of wood on the floor and i was thinking of sanding them and just using them as the flooring. the problem is there are big gaps between the planks and there is a drop under them which means if i try to fill the gaps the filler will just fall down as there is nothing under the wood. what do you think i should do?

Hi, This is a common problem with 2 or 3 different solutions. Take a look at our project page here ... boards.htm

Please let us know which of the solutions you use and how it works for you.

either replace the floor, or cover it with either 3 or 6mm plywood
