Gaps between florboards over a hollow floor

by dympna35 » Fri Feb 14, 2014 10:13 pm

hi. ive just moved into a house with no flooring. There are planks of wood on the floor and i was thinking of sanding them and just using them as the flooring. the problem is there are big gaps between the planks and there is a drop under them which means if i try to fill the gaps the filler will just fall down as there is nothing under the wood. what do you think i should do?

Hi, This is a common problem with 2 or 3 different solutions. Take a look at our project page here https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/fi ... boards.htm

Please let us know which of the solutions you use and how it works for you.

either replace the floor, or cover it with either 3 or 6mm plywood
