by jomcroon » Sun May 11, 2014 9:01 am

Hi love some advice to do this I got a roll of 22mm hep 20 pipe for nowt and I want to fit a stopcock and drain plug which push fit fittings are suitable for this as there seems different brands eg polyplumb speed fittings etc
Apart from the stopcocks what other bits do I need
Thanks jo

Hi Jo,

Cut a small length (300mm) of pipe and take it to a plumbers merchants (not a DIY Store) and ask the guy for fittings for Hep 20 pipe. The reason for taking the pipe with you is so he can show you how to connect them using the pipe inserts and other bits you will need to make each joint watertight.

You can get a great idea of how Hep pipe and other quick-fit/speed fit pipework works by visiting this page
https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/speedfit.htm
but we suggest that you only use Hep fittings with Hep pipe.
