Using Vinyl for Covering Small Shed Roof?

Hi i am about to re felt a small shed in the garden and i have been suggested to use lino,vinyl instead of felt. The stuff that you use in some kitchen floors/bathrooms. Anyone has got any views on this?

Hi

You could use vinyl as it will still provide the required levels of waterproofing etc…. but most domestic use vinyls are quite vulnerable to UV damage so they may degrade quickly and need replacing faster than traditional felt (which also degrades over time).

In you are after longevity with your new roof, have you considered EPDM rubber roofing? (some info here: https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/bu ... t_roof.htm). Although quite costly, they do last a great deal of time.
