Programmable Room Stat

Underfloor Heating - The new Central Heating ?

Underfloor Heating is fast becoming the new and favoured form of central heating. Reasons put forward by underfloor system manufacturers are;

  • You can design a home that suits your needs rather than a design that is restricted by radiator positioning and sizes.
  • Underfloor heating is invisible from above and does not use valuable wall space with unsightly heating equipment.
  • With an underfloor heating system, the floor itself becomes the heat emitter and the heating of the room is from the floor up, unlike radiators in a normal central heating system where the emitters are mounted on the wall and the room is, effectively, heated from the ceiling downwards.

How do you Control Underfloor Heating Efficiently ?

When underfloor heating is installed, it is commonplace to install a programmable room thermostat (like the Heatmiser PRT) in each room, allowing independent control of each room.

However, although having a thermostat in each room gives the best level of control, you should consider how you will use the system - after all, the reason for choosing underfloor heating was to make the system more efficient. You are unlikely to walk around your home programming the individual thermostats when your needs change - for example at holiday times.

The Heatmiser Network System

Our network able thermostats are 12v powered and have been designed to work with our UH1 central wiring box. Upto 8 zones can be controlled from 1 UH1 and the Heatmiser TouchPad provides central control of the entire system.
