Hard work with a wide bolster chisel and hammer is the only way. Click on the image to buy either or both.

Once all of the lumps are off and you are left with a few stains, you can then apply a brick or patio cleaning acid to the surface to remove the rest. Make sure you are wearing protective masks, gloves etc as this stuff is potent. Always follow the directions on the container. Click on the image to buy.
